For this week’s addition into the dusty bins of WRITE BRAIN TV’s Underground Music Library, we have, for the first time, repeat offenders!

Hangover Affair by the Mexico City three-piece She Killed in Ecstasy comes to us under somewhat unusual circumstances, as it has just recently been removed from Spotify for unclear and surely dubious reasons. Whereas the large corporate streamers in both the film and music industries promote vapid celebrity pop-culture while making way for the new influx of soulless AI-generated content, we here at Write Brain exist if only to celebrate truly radical, independent, and underground artists. So we were honored when we had the opportunity to help support a group of phenomenal artists and add another banned and censored work to our catalog.

Recently, we featured She Killed in Ecstacy’s rollicking recent release, Happiness, but today we take it back to 2017 for their debut album, Hangover Affair, a boozy, brawny set of tracks alive with cinematic conjurings of vast desert expanses and dusty roadside whiskey bars. Boasting a repertoire of haunted vocals, bronzey, skunked-beer blues guitar work, murky molten basslines, and rusted gutbucket drums set to overdrive, SKIE delivers a singular, supercharged offering of what could only be called Necromantic Psychobilly.

Write Brain TV couldn’t be happier to welcome back the demented Delta Blues sound of She Killed in Ecstasy.
